My 5 year old is a huge Berenstain Bears fan just as I was as a child and I was so excited to find this newer story as a gift for her Pre-K graduation. In the story, Brother is graduating from fourth grade, Sister is graduating from first grade, and Honey is graduating from her first year in daycare. The story follows the Bear family as they prepare for graduation, explaining that graduation celebrates everything you've learned in school and accomplished (in this case in that one school year), wearing the cap and gowns, accepting their diplomas, and the feelings of the adults. Gran cries because she's so proud but also sad they are growing up, which is exactly how I felt at my daughter's graduation this year, so it's relatable to both kids and adults. The illustrations are very colorful and the text is the perfect length to hold a child age 3-5's attention. I read it to her class before graduation and they enjoyed it. Another relatable Bernstain Bears story that discusses a life lesson and opens up a conversation between child and adult. We love all of these books!
